One dose a day / American casual beginner

It recently occurred to me that despite being in the clothing business for quite a while, I haven't really embraced authentic Americana casual wear.

I love denim and sweatshirts, and I regularly wear workwear and military-style clothes.

However, I've always somehow avoided dressing in what's typically considered "classic Americana casual" as is.

I guess I just couldn't do it before.

Even if I wore the classic styles, I never looked as cool as my seniors.

So, I balanced it out by choosing a slightly twisted, "alternative" approach.

But now, in my mid-30s, my perspective has shifted a bit.

I feel less hesitant to wear classic items in a classic way than before.

I've started to feel like I want to genuinely confront that style once.

While it feels a little embarrassing, I'm thinking of becoming an "Americana Casual Freshman" for myself.

Today, I'll introduce a few items I've been wearing frequently, items that feel much closer to "classic" than before.

First up is the BONCOURA 1st denim jacket.

Among the items I'm introducing, this is a completely classic Americana casual piece.

I've tried denim jackets several times in the past,

but they always felt a bit too rugged,

and I felt they didn't suit me very well.

It's one of those items I've bought and sold multiple times.

But strangely enough,

when I tried on this BONCOURA 1st at a certain point,

I thought, "Ah, maybe I can pull this off now..."

Perhaps it's thanks to the impeccable quality of the product itself, or maybe it's just due to the current trend pushing me towards it.

It's a feeling I can't quite put into words, but

it didn't feel forced; it just naturally fit.

If I'm going to start as an "Americana Casual Freshman,"

I figured it would be best to start with a straightforward, classic item like this.

Next up is KENNETH FIELD's Driving Jacket.

Made of Madras check seersucker fabric,

this piece is positioned slightly differently from the "straight-up Americana casual" of a denim jacket.

Even though I said I'm "going for the classics" this time,

my personal style seems to shine through in my attraction to items that blend several elements like this one.

Madras check and seersucker fabric are indispensable within the context of trad and ivy styles.

While it's not a tailored jacket or a button-down shirt,

I want to enjoy the classic color palette.

I also continue to wear Engineered Garments fatigue pants frequently.

These are items that fall under the category of workwear and military styles.

Lately, I've been increasingly pairing them simply

with denim jackets and sweatshirts, more so than usual.

I'm not doing anything special,

but it feels somehow comfortable.

Rather than changing how I wear them,

perhaps my perception has changed.

This desire to once again incorporate "items I've worn before" into my basic wardrobe

is also a change for me this time.

And I also had another realization.

It's that I always somehow end up adding my own twist.

But rather than being a habit of mine,

it might be one of the ways of enjoying clothes

that SEEK&FIND has always valued.

From my student days as a customer until now,

I've noticed that this sensibility has naturally ingrained itself in me.

Even the seniors who stylishly wore classic Americana casual wear,

who seemed "classic" to me back then,

I now realize they probably chose subtly unique items and styled them with just the right touch.

So, I too, will embrace those subtle deviations and enjoy being an "Americana Casual Freshman."

Have a nice Weekend~!!!
