I like to flip things over.
Whether it's Othello or okonomiyaki, I always get excited at the moment of flipping.
Though I don't transfer pudding to a plate to eat it.
I also like to turn clothes and accessories inside out.
When I turn them inside out for washing, for instance,
I sometimes stare at them for a while before tossing them into the washing machine.
When I unexpectedly discover traces of careful craftsmanship,
it makes me feel warm and happy.
Just the other day, I made such a discovery...

southern field industries / boko tote
This bag was custom-ordered
at an event held last May.
I've been using it seamlessly for both work and leisure,
and now it's an indispensable part of my daily life.
With a feeling akin to gratitude, I washed it a while ago.
It's been a year and a half since we started carrying it.
I used to look inside and think how neat the piping and seams were,
but this was the first time I properly turned it inside out.
And it's really amazing...
It has no inside or outside.
No,
there's definitely a front and a back, but it's crafted in a way that doesn't show it.
There's no waste, no roughness.
What do you imagine it looks like when it's turned inside out?
I'll post photos a bit later, so for now, please imagine it as you like.
Once again, this is what the outside looks like:

Did you get some kind of an idea?

Now for the inside:

To me, it doesn't look like the inside.
The pristine seams have no unevenness,
and the beautiful piping looks like a design element.

I was captivated by its dignified appearance.
I was so impressed by this seamless "inside-out" quality
that I spontaneously messaged the designer, Okada-san.
I ended up hearing about various secrets? particularities? feelings?
If you're curious, please ask about them in-store.
While I'd really love to shout it out to all of you here,
I believe that the unpretentious nature is also part of southern field industries' charm...

Functionality as a bag and a design that blends into everyday life.
"I don't know what makes it good, but it's just good."
For my own purchases, that kind of yardstick works quite well.
I suppose discovering new facets after getting acquainted deepens one's affection even more.
That's all for today.
Have a nice weekend~!!!
